img_0939.jpg For the Brooklyn Nets, this season started out a bit rough.  While expectations may have been lower coming into the season AP_416291174060relative to the past, fans were looking for better than a  7-15 start. But maybe things are changing...

The Nets have won 6 of the last 7 home games and have a few more opportunities to spread the Brooklyn Love at home, during their jam packed December schedule.

Last night, against the struggling Philadelphia 76ers, Shane Larkin (14 points) and Andrea Barg nani (23 points) proved that the Nets' bench can go deep. Larkin and Bargnani were able to close the gap in the 4th quarter after Brook Lopez was benched due to foul trouble. Both the former Knickerbockers executed Coach Lionel Hollins' game message,"...the great players lead by their ability to score the ball, and people follow them because they know that they can help them win.”

With the fans doing an amazing job of keeping the energy high in Barclays Center, the Nets were able to beat the 76er's 100-91 leaving Philly 1-22.

With a spot for a Nets superhero available, I'm optimistic that if the team shows a bit more consistency and fans continue to support right down to the last shot, then maybe we have been looking at it all wrong– maybe Brooklyn has the power to birth a star, not buy one.

And since there's no one road to success, it does seem to make a difference when the crowd brings their A game– even down to the last second.img_0965.jpg
