Athlete Mothers in the spotlight

Serena Williams has announced her pregnancy last Wednesday. Wow, the most successful female player of the Open era, is pregnant - just 12 weeks after winning a record 23rd Grand Slam singles title. The 35 years old American is due this fall. We did the math and it means she was 8 weeks pregnant when she won her last title. This is just incredible.

Take a look at those female athletes

But there are a few more other pregnant female athletes we should take a look at because they have performed excellent accomplishments in the past such as Malaysian air rifle shooter Nur Suryani Mohamad Taibi. She was competing in London 2012 during the Olympics. Nur Suryani Mohamad Taibi who was due to give birth to her first child only 4 weeks after the Olympics. Nur Suryani Mohamed Taibi was unable to book her place in the final of the women's 10m air rifle when she was eliminated in the qualification round on the first morning of the London Games, but that's not what it was about for her at that moment.

How amazing is that?

Or check out runner Alyssa Montano, multi medalist, 7 time USA champion and 2 time American record holder, who was running the 800m Track and Field 2014 championships only 7 weeks before she was giving birth. She finished in 2 minutes, 32.13 seconds -- nearly 35 seconds slower than her personal best of 1:57.34 in 2010 in Monaco with a baby in her belly. How amazing is that?

The Canadian Kristie Moore was curling for two when she took home the silver medal at the Olympics in 2010 while she was six months pregnant.

The right moment?

We're pretty sure you also might have thought about it if and when there will be the right moment to become pregnant especially when you're an active person who loves to work out, or you're an athlete and you're competing. Let us tell you, there is no right moment. But as you can see here, the 4 amazing women still killed it while competing in sports.

You actually can be a supermom and be super successful in what you love -- even when you're. Serena Williams is just another good example that pregnancy doesn't mean anything else than being gifted. It doesn't mean you have to stop working out. Of course for now her season is over, but since we know badass Serena, she will come back stronger after giving birth to her baby.
