Love Squad Book Club: Brave, Not Perfect

For the first round of the official Love Squad Book Club, we read Brave, Not Perfect by Reshma Saujani.

Written by a true boss, this book challenges how we raise our girls and discusses the societal need to squash the sexist and unfair expectations thrust upon them. Author Reshma Saujani is the founder and CEO of Girls Who Code, a non-profit organization that encourages young girls to enter the world of tech and works hard to help close the gender wage gap.

The Love Squad team chose this book as the first book for a couple reasons. For one, Ally had just started reading it and was already loving it. It resonated with her and helped her so much with her mindset and how she reflected upon her days. She thought it would resonate with our community as well. We also wanted a book geared towards women and one that would generate some great conversation, which it did!!

Our community has had its noses in this powerful book for six weeks now. Many of us are finished and some of us are wrapping it up soon. Before we move on to the next read, we want to know what you think as you finish! Comment below with your overall thoughts on the book. The conversation ain’t over yet!

So, what did ya think??
